Introduction
The following information summarises Cubik's approach to equal opportunities, health and safety at work and the environment.
Equal Opportunities
Cubik considers all applicants for employment on the basis of their qualifications for the specific job without regard to race, colour, religion, sex, age, disability or national origin. This policy extends to all aspects of employment.
Health and Safety at Work
Cubik ensures, as far as is reasonably practicable, the health, safety and welfare of all its employees and of other persons who may be affected by its operation. Cubik seeks to achieve this by providing and maintaining places of work and equipment which are safe, by operating systems of work which are safe and without risks to health and also by providing suitable arrangements for employee's welfare.
Cubik believes that considerations of safety are as important an aspect of management control as any other management function. Expert advice is sought, where necessary, on policy, interpretation of rules and implementation of safe practices.
Management/Employee Relations
The company provides its employees with a ‘Statement of Particulars of Employment’ (a contemporary implementation of a contract of employment which was developed under guidance from an external human resources consultancy).
The company provides employee benefits such as ‘death in service cover’. All benefits apply equally to all employees.
The company complies fully with current relevant legislation, for example:
- A Stakeholder compliant pension scheme is provided;
- The company has a written health and safety policy;
- Insurances are in place to protect the interests of employees and clients.
Environmental Policy
Cubik is committed to environmental preservation and improvement in its business activities. Cubik supports practical and reasonable initiatives to reduce pollution and conserve nature's reserves for future generations, as part of a continual programme to minimise negative effects on the environment.
Unlike a manufacturing company there are fewer ways in which we can save raw materials, recycle used equipment and packaging, or reduce water and air pollution. However, Cubik promotes:
- The use of Public Transport when practical.
- The recycling of office consumables.
- The use of waste disposal contractors registered with the Waste Regulation Authority where appropriate.
- Energy and vital resource control by sensible usage of lights, machines, heating and waste disposal.
- The adoption of best practice recommendations in office equipment and environments.
