Out of the box, Microsoft Content Management Server 2002 (‘MCMS 2002’) provided a framework for the development of a content managed website, but there was still much work to be done before that framework became a live website.
The traditional approach to MCMS 2002 implementation was to treat each client's requrements as unique and to undertake a bespoke project to fulfil those requirements. Many man-days of development were typically required, with an obvious impact upon project timescales and cost.
Cubik recognised that there was an opportunity to develop the most-commonly requested functionality and to make this available as a standard 'package', thereby reducing the time and cost associated with MCMS 2002 implementation. This vision resulted in the development of Cubik's E-Business Developer Suite 1.0 ('EBDS').
EBDS 1.0 has supported the delivery of many highly functional websites and intranets built upon MCMS 2002 and forms a core component of Cubik's OneStopCMS solution.
Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 ('MOSS 2007') is the successor to MCMS 2002. Though functionally richer than MCMS 2002, MOSS 2007 is still an 'incomplete' web content management solution. In the course of 2007, Cubik will repeat the success of EBDS 1.0 with the launch and ongoing development of EBDS 3.0 for MOSS 2007.
