Pre-Design Site
We firstly configure a development website at a temporary URL. This website has a default 'look and feel', but is otherwise fully functional. Some clients who are under time pressures to undertake their projects opt to commence the input of content to the Pre-Design site, with the design to be applied retrospectively when the design consultation stage is complete. If this is a requirement, we will schedule Training at this early stage of the project.
Most clients opt to take a more sequential approach, where the Design Exercise is completed and the design applied to the website before content input commences.
Server Configuration
We will configure our servers to allow you to consume up to 350Mb of server space and 1Mbps of Internet bandwidth per month. Optional incremental increases are available at additional cost.
Content Creation
Content creation can take one (or a combination of) four methods:
Manual Content Input
If this is your first website or if you are taking the opportunity to rebuild your existing website from scratch, it is perfectly feasible to utilise the content management tools to structure your new website and to build the new web pages. Again, Training is a pre-requisite to performing this task effectively.
Automated Migration of Existing Website Content
In many instances, clients have existing websites and though the design of those sites might be jaded, the core content is still relevant. In this circumstance, we can offer an automated content migration process.
Content migration uses software tools to visit your existing website and to map current content to a newly developed OneStopCMS website.
Subsequent to content migration, clients need to review their content and can edit it using the OneStopCMS content management tools.
Automated content migration is an extra-cost option in addition to standard OneStopCMS website set-up fees.
Import of MS-Word Documents
Where clients have developed their new website content as a series of MS-Word documents, we have a standard methodology for importing that content into a OneStopCMS website structure. We provide standard document templates to ensure that web pages created from MS-Word documents are structured as you would wish them to be.
The import of MS-Word documents is an extra-cost option in addition to standard OneStopCMS website set-up fees.
Bespoke Copywriting
We can utilise the services of specialist copywriters to work with you to create new website content which is consistent with a pre-defined house style. Again, this is an extra-cost option.
User Permissions
We will configure user permissions so that you can control roles and responsibilities throughout the site, for both site administrators and site visitors.
System Configuration
We will establish details such as
- How you wish to categorise information within your site (use of meta data);
- How you wish to make information 'searchable' (use of advanced search functions); and
- Which advanced features you wish to use (e.g. e-Bulletins, Personalisation etc).
When set-up is complete, the next logical step is Training.
