Feature Content

This template lets you create content that can be shown in a popup when a user clicks a teaser link included on pages on your site.

To create and use feature content on your site you will first need to create Feature Content postings in a designated feature content channel.

In order for this to work, we need to apply a property to the designated channel. When you have created the channel, please send a link to help@cubik.co.uk and we will apply this property for you. You can still continue to create your Feature Content pages while you wait for this property to be applied, but you will not be able to add them to other pages on your site until this has been done.

  1. When viewing the site in edit mode, select Create New Page - 'Create New Page'.
  2. This will bring up the template gallery. Select 'Content' and then 'Feature Content'.
  3. Add your Teaser Content text in the appropriate placeholder. This is the content that will appear in a clickable feature panel when the feature is used on other pages in your site.
  4. Add your Main Feature Content, which is the content that will appear in the popup when teaser content is clicked.
  5. Select Save Page on the blue console.
  6. A window will appear prompting you to add a 'Name' and a 'Display Name' to the page. On entering these details, select 'OK'.

  7. An Author creating a page will then need to submit Submit Event the page to be approved by an Editor or an Administrator, before the page is published to the live site. An Editor or Administrator creating a page will just need to approve the page in order to publish it. This can be achieved by selecting Approve Page.
  8. Once you have saved and approved the feature content you can use the feature in other pages on your site by adding the following to the content: {feature::featurename} where featurename is the value you entered in the Name textbox in step 6. You can also specify what the height and width of the popup should be by adding {feature::featurename|600|600}instead of the value above.

When the teaser is clicked the Main Feature Content will be displayed in a popup:

Before you can use feature content on your site we will need to apply some custom styling and configuration changes for you. Please contact Cubik Support if you would like to discuss using feature content on your site.
