Image Gallery

Image Galleries are a great way to display a collection of up to 25 photographs on your website. The OneStopCMS solution enables its users to do this in both HTML and Flash formats.

Image Galleries are quick and easy to produce, just follow these simple steps to create one for your website.

Galleries created with the Image Gallery template will show a maximum of 25 images. If you have more images than this, then consider breaking them down into two or more galleries to make it easy for your visitors to find the images that interest them most.

  1. When viewing the site in edit mode you will need to select Create New Page - 'Create New Page'.
  2. This will bring up the template gallery - from here we select 'Content' and then 'Image Gallery'. You can then introduce your image gallery in the text editor. Text Editor
  3. The next step is to select the images that will be displayed within the gallery.
  4. Select Edit Image Gallery
  5. Select the appropriate folder from the resource gallery – you need to create this folder beforehand. Select Folder from Gallery
  6. Add as many folders as you wish by selecting ‘Save this Row and add New’Save Row add New
  7. When you are satisfied select ‘OK’
  8. Once the images have been selected you need to define the way in which they will appear on the website.
    Mode

    Select whether you would like to create a HTML or Flash based image gallery.

    HTML will appear as clickable thumbnails whereas Flash will be a continuous slideshow of images

    Number of columns (Grid Mode only) Select the number of columns that you want the thumbnails to be displayed in. The number should be chosen to be compatible with the thumbnail size. If you have a large thumbnail size, you may need to reduce the number of columns, or your web page will be too wide to fit on a standard monitor.
    Thumbnail size (Grid Mode only) The Thumbnail Size field controls the size of the images that are shown on the web page. Each thumbnail will be a link to a larger version of the image. The size of the larger version is controlled by the Image Size field.
    Image size This field controls the size of the image displayed when the visitor clicks on the thumbnail.
    Include thumbnail name (Grid Mode only) Select this checkbox if you want the image's name to be displayed below the thumbnail. The name will be a link to a larger version of the image, just like the thumbnail itself.
    Offer full size link (Grid Mode only) Select this option if you want the visitors to be able to view a full-size copy of the image. A link to the full size version will be shown below the thumbnail. If a visitor clicks on this link, it will be opened in a new window.
    Offer download link (Grid Mode only) Select this option if you want the visitors to be able to download a full-size copy of the image.
    Width (Flash Mode Only, leave blank for default) If you require the slideshow to vary in size from it's default setting then this box needs to be populated.
  9. Once you are happy with your Image Gallery select Save Page.
  10. You will be asked to add a 'Name' and a 'Display Name' to the page, once you are happy select 'OK'.Page Name
  11. If you are an author on the site your page will be submitted for approval. If you are an editor you will need to approve the page to go onto the live site. This can be achieved by selecting Approve Page.
