Where we're from
Founded in 2004, Cubik has grown into the leading supplier of content managed websites for charities, voluntary and not-for-profit organisations in the UK. And our public and private sector clients are growing too!
The embryo of an idea
As is often the case with innovative web development businesses, Cubik’s founders had worked together before. And in that past life, we’d often come across web development opportunities with UK charities, but had been unable to put together a proposal at the right price. Out of that experience, Cubik was born.
The vision
We reasoned that if we could offer a highly-functional content managed website platform and build visually appealing and accessible websites upon that platform at a highly-competitive price, that sounded like a business. We’re pleased to say that our theory has proved correct!
The history
Our first CMS solution was built upon Microsoft Content Management Server 2002 (MCMS 2002), enhanced by the Cubik E-Business Developer Suite (EBDS). We offered the EBDS as a licensed solution to those clients that had invested in MCMS 2002 and also offered a fully outsourced service to those clients who required website design, hosting, CMS software and support as an integrated package. This outsourced service was marketed as OneStopCMS.
The future
Our vision remains much the same today as it did at the outset. We still work closely with charities, voluntary and not-for-profit organisations, though our 180 strong client base now includes organisations from the public and private sectors. And the provision of class-leading CMS software still remains at the core of what we do. But now it’s not dependent upon MCMS 2002 and we’re so proud of it we simply call it “Cubik”.
